Ric Keller signed a term limits pledge in 2000.

"We need people who are there for the right reasons, not people who are there to see how long they can stay there," Keller said at the time.

Things are different in 2006. Now that Keller is in a red-leaning district.

"As a rookie candidate, I underestimated the value of experience and seniority. I will not spend my entire career in Congress, but I will seek re-election in 2008," he said in a written statement.

Keller has grown wiser in his time in Congress. It has nothing to do with him getting a better office every time he's re-elected or job security. It's that "underestimated" thing that has caused him to change his mind. He was a young rookie. Now he's a veteran who can help keep America safe from gay-marrying terrorists like Will and Grace.
