More On Deerfield Beach Voting

Matt Zimmerman of the Electronic Frontier Foundation emailed me to correct a St. Petersburg Times story on the Deerfield Beach voting problems.

Alas, the St. Petersburg Times was apparently a bit off with their
quote. I mentioned in a press briefing that one of the areas that the
Election Protection Coalition (not EFF per se, but we are and were part
of the Coalition's legal team) was considering litigation in Broward
County based on machine problems that led to a polling place opening
hours late. For a variety of reasons, we moved instead to keep polls
open in Utah County, UT, based on machine problems there that affected
polling places county-wide. (Unfortunately, the judge did not grant the
request even though polls were apparently down for hours in some places.)
