Deerfield Beach Voting Update

The problem with the Deerfield Beach precinct was the wrong memory cards were inserted. This caused ten voting machines not to work. A polling worker somehow mishandled the memory cards. Voting was delayed for three hours. Conficting reports say 50 to 75 people were turned away.

The Election Protection coalition asked Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes to keep the precinct open pass 7:00 pm. Their request was denied. The Election Protection Coalition will not file a lawsuit.

He said his groups decided against filing a lawsuit because it didn't have complaints from people who didn't get to vote. The complaints came from people who were unable to cast ballots earlier in the day because technicians were fixing activators on 10 of the 14 machines.

"Some said 50 to 75 people were turned away," Mincberg said. "Some got back to vote. But some left without being able to vote."

I am trying to find out if Electronic Frontier Foundation will file a lawsuit.
