The Snowjob That Is Internal Polling Numbers

Is The Buzz just going to be stenographers for Gus Bilirakis? I find them printing the Bilirakis campaign internal poll findings to be hysterical.

There is no significant partisanship to Bilirakis’ image ratings, as he stands with a 47% favorable rating among Independents, and a 40% favorable rating among partisan Democrats. Gus Bilirakis’ favorable rating among partisan Democrats is 28 points higher than Busansky’s favorable rating among Democrats."

Partisan Democrats have no love lost for Mike Bilirakis and don't want to see his son inherit the seat. The Buzz let themselves get a snowjob from the Bilirakis campaign. The job of media relations people is to feed any kind of spin that someone in the press is foolish to dictate. If Bilirakis had so few negatives then Democrats would have given up on Phyllis Busansky. Not bring big name Democrats to stump for her. The truth is this is one of the most hotly contested congressional races in the country. If Bilirakis is so popular then why did he fail to get enough signatures to get on the ballot.

Campaigns always give positive internal polling numbers. Unless you believe Katherine Harris is going to win by 53 percent. I'm sure there's people out there that do. Crack cocaine and Instapundit are a deadly combination.

Update: William March expresses skepticism about the internal poll.
