Obama in Michigan

At the Daimler Detroit Diesel plant in Michigan, President Barack Obama weighed in on Michigan's Orwellian named right to work legislation.

“What we shouldn’t be doing is trying to take away your rights to bargain for better wages,” Obama told a small crowd at the plant. “We don’t want a race to the bottom. We want a race to the top.”

Obama said the laws “don’t have to do with economics. They have everything to do with politics."

Republican Gov. Rick Snyder will likely sign the legislation tomorrow.

Florida is a right to work state. Florida has lower wages and higher unemployment than the national average. Florida is a perfect example of how right to work laws don't create trickle down benefits for the working class.
