Ritch Workman's Job Plan is Dwarf Tossing

Florida state representative Ritch Workman believes the best way to get people back to work is to end the ban on dwarf tossing.

“All that it does is prevent some dwarfs from getting jobs they would be happy to get,” Workman told the Palm Beach Post. “In this economy, or any economy, why would we want to prevent people from getting gainful employment?”

The text of HB 4063.

Repeals provisions prohibiting beverage licensees maintaining, owning, or operating certain commercial establishments from allowing exploitation of persons with dwarfism.

Think about this. Workman is attempting to repeal a law that forbids the "exploitation of persons with dwarfism." Apparently, Workman supports the exploiting small people. This is so bizarre that words literally fail me.

  1. I believe Mr. Workman's goal is to get rid of some unneeded laws of Florida's books. Stop reading more into it than it really is. If someone doesn't like something, that means we have to have a law against it? Seriously, it's about Civil Liberties....Period!

  2. How are civil liberties threatened by the ban on dwarf tossing? As for "stop reading more" into the bill, I read and linked to the bill. There is no mention about civil liberties. A threat to civil liberties is warrant wireless, tapping, and the president being able to hold anyone without a trial. The president now has that power thanks to the Patriot Act.

Workman said himself this is a jobs bill. Of all the problems Florida has Workman puts dwarf tossing on the top of his list. Seriously, it is about this being a stupid bill....Period!
