Sarah Palin's Decision Next Week

I know from my Twitter conversations with Javier Manjarres that there are conservatives that want Sarah Palin to get into the presidential race. Robert Stacy McCain of the American Spectator reports that Palin will make her decision next week.

Vendors of campaign services who hope to work for Team Palin have been told that Palin, the 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate, will decide soon one way or another on mounting a 2012 campaign.

Palin gave a snarky response to McCain's blog post on Twitter.

"Really? Hmm, guess they forgot to inform me what I'm 'expected to do' next week."

McCain updated his post and responded to Palin.

OK, fine, governor, but I was reporting what my source had been told. Has my source been misinformed?

Is Palin feuding with McCain and the American Spectator? I feel bad with McCain. He is just doing his job. As for Palin, what does she gain by dissing the ultra-conservative American Spectator on Twitter? Tina Dupuy described Palin as "America's full-time professional duelist."

  1. If Palin intends to run, she won't announce it for a while -- at least until the GOP candidate field is whittled down where it's the "establishment" candidate Romney versus a couple other candidates (Paul, Bachmann most likely) who everyone knows can't win. Palin will then stop skirting campaign finance laws, sweep into the campaign and battle Romney -- who will have a weak campaign warchest and is already compromised in the eyes of Tea Party conservatives.

Until then, Palin will continue this surreal charade of doing everything candidates normally do when running -- making stump speeches in battleground states, touring the country on a big bus that looks suspiciously like a political campaign bus -- while loudly claiming that she's in no way, shape, or form even trying to vie for a presidential nomination right now. Nope. Nevvvveeerrr! Palin is hardly an intellectual on any political issues, but when it comes to winning a high school popularity contest, Palin has the media around her finger like a prom queen has the whole football team jerking off to thoughts of her at midnight.

And Palin knows she's receiving so much free advertising right now that there's no point to declare her candidacy, because then she has to do things that normal candidates do: debate, obey campaign finance laws, not have her own TV shows or be a commentator on Fox. And think of all the cash Palin is raking in be being the biggest pretend presidential candidate in history. Indeed, if Palin intends to run, she'll announce such at the dead last possible minute.

As for dissing Robert Stacy McCain, I betcha any conservative who isn't a hardcore blogger hasn't heard of the guy. Where's RSM's TV show? Radio show? Nationally syndicated column? The man is a virtual nobody outside of the blogosphere and a magazine read by under 50,000 people.

  2. The Robert Stacy McCain feud is a continuation of what Tina Dupuy correctly labels Palin's career nas na professional duelist. It's a rather pointless feud. Palin does like the play the victim and tell her followers how the big bad (in this case conservative) media is picking on her. The media is picking on Palin so much that she gets a Fox News contract and her own reality tv show. Oh, that horrible media.

  3. Palin's followers are also fucking idiots who should be barred from breeding, and have their children taken away from them if they've been found to be popping out children. As for Palin being a duelist, I wouldn't go that far. Ultimate troll?, maybe. But above all else, Palin knows how to rope in the media. Say something ambiguously unintelligent about history, have a bunch of us go apeshit about it, the media reports to "story", then Palin winks at the camera, dresses up in leather and rides off on a motorcycle.

I won't deny that Palin has tapped a nerve among plenty of stupid Americans who really believe in her bad acting towards victimhood, but her status as an attention getting, tabloid politician has basically voided her legitimacy as a candidacy. Most Americans will agree that Palin is a fucking moron and they couldn't fathom her becoming president.
