Streamlining Government: Rick Scott Style
Rick Scott came into office vowing to steamline government. Scott ordered all agencies to review every regulation on the books. Scott promised that his business savvy would make government more efficient. Under Scott, government is running so efficiently that agencies missed the 90 day deadline to finished the regulations review.
A state website tracking the process said Tuesday that of the 13,201 rules analyses state employees started, about 2,200 weren't finished.
Scott was asked by the media what regulation should be repealed. Scott couldn't name a regulation that needed to be repealed. Yet Scott tasked all agencies with reviewing thousands of regulations. Giving state workers more paperwork is not making government more efficient.
