Jim Davis' Weird Dropout

This is a WTF moment. Jim Davis announce through Tampa mayoral candidate Bob Buckhorn that he isn't running for mayor. It seems Davis couldn't be bothered to make the announcement himself.

I wanted to let you know first that Jim Davis has decided he will not run for Mayor. Jim is a good friend, a great public servant and someone who has served this community with distinction and honor. I know all of us wish him well in his future endeavors and I will look to his guidance in the upcoming months.

Did Davis finally realize Buckhorn has been fundraising like mad and he should of gotten into campaign mode a year ago? This is the same Jim Davis that manage to piss off Rod Smith supporters and black voters by voting against paying compensation for wrongfully convicted Freddie Pitts and Wilbert Lee.

Buckhorn is best known for backing the stadium tax and the City of Tampa's six foot rule in strip clubs. The law makes it illegal for dancers and patrons to come within six feet of each other. Mons Venus owner Joe Redner decided to fight every potential arrest of his dancers in court. The law is on the books but is never enforced.

Buckhorn is beatable. I'm sure Buckhorn would rather forget his defate to Brian "Killer Bee" Blair.
