Former porn addict and current Tampa social conservative David Caton is not plased that Scott is a shareholder in Quepasa Corp. It is the parent company of Quepasa.com. The web site holds contests for women to audition for Playboy. The site also has gay "relationship networking." Caton is a social conservative will a lot of bark and no bite. Caton tried and failed in his efforts to keep Kevin Beckner from being elected to the Hillsborough County Commission. Caton has for years unsuccessfully attempted to shut down Joe Redner's strip club Mons Venus. Caton now risks alienating himself from his Republican base by going after Scott.
"That is what Rick Scott said just three months ago, not ten years. So Rick Scott must believe that profitting from his investment in a company that lures women into the porn industry and connects same-sex partners for relationships is also something ingrained in him from the Boy Scouts and church as "the right thing to do everyday."
Apparently, Caton hasn't read about sex scandals with the Boy Scouts or Catholic church.
Scott campaign spokesman Brian Burgess blew off Caton: "As Rick has said many times, QuePasa.com is a Spanish language version of Facebook. and Rick is a minority shareholder with no direct control over the company. If Mr. Caton feels that strongly, he should cancel his Facebook account because they carry the same types of advertising."
That is exactly the way to handle Caton. He has no power. Pols should just sway Caton away as if he is an annoying fly. I tremble in fear of Caton spamming my email box.
