Kendrick Meek's 'My Life' Ad
This ad is better than the previous disasters Kendrick Meek has unleashed on the airwaves and the internet. The 30 second spot is upbeat which is a positive in an increasingly nasty primary race. The Meek campaign makes sure their guy is seen with plenty of old white people. I'm really starting to wonder if Team Meek thinks their candidate is Buddy MacKay. It is 2010, people who are racist are not going to vote for Meek. Falsely placing visible old white people around Meek comes off as pandering.
The purpose of the ad was to show a slice of Meek's life. Which apparently excludes showing the crime-ridden Liberty City Meek grew up in. At the end of the ad, Meek say it isn't about his life buy yours. If that was the case then the ad would be entitled 'Michael Hussey's Life.' I feel cheated.
Team Meek needs a policy ad. Florida voters have no idea what Meek stands for. You may disagree with Alan Grayson or Jim DeMint but you have an idea what they are about. The ad isn't bad but Meek needs to give people a reason to vote for him.
