Kendrick Meek Death Watch: No Obama Support

Politico has an article on Kendrick Meek supporters and the Black Caucus are upset at President Barack Obama for his lack of support. Rep. Alcee Hastings makes his disapproval clear.

"If they do not step up their support for Kendrick, then they cannot expect that I and my allies will support them in 2012," Hastings said, after describing the West Wing's treatment of Meek as "poor."

The Meek campaign is no longer going to maintain their bullshit spin about Obama backing the campaign 100 percent.

  1. Frankly... it should piss anyone off that their political party would demand blind absolutism in supporting who they say is the candidate. Meek is not the best man for the job. I'm a liberal and I've worked hard for the DCCC in FL but I will not be told where to lend my support or how to vote. And that's what's going on ... bad as the corporate candidate thing.

The party essentially forced Dan Gelber and Pam Iorio out of the Senate race after Bill Clinton threw his support behind Meek. Did members of the Democratic establishment bother to listen to Meek on the stump or examine his history of his mother essentially giving Meek her seat. It wouldn't have hurt to do a background check on Meek's history with Dennis Stackhouse.

  3. yep and yes. agreed. and with his mom taking the 'consultant' position with Miami City Council / with all that generational corruption pay to play politic going on... I'm really stunned Carrie Meek pulled all of this. I guess I'm a bit naive.
