BP Dumping Sand to Hide Oil
Daily Loaf blogger Kerimelshenker got a major scoop from New York Times freelance photographer C.S. Muncy. The latter discovered BP was dumping sand on the beach of Grand Isle, Louisiana to cover up oil and tar balls. Muncy discovered after digging a few inches down into the sand that there was oil and tar residue. The consistency of the top level sand was different than the sand underneath. Deputies confirmed to Muncy that BP brought in sand.
But, you know, we got to talking with the guy, one of them, and he said, ‘Yeah, they came here, and just dumped a bunch of sand on the beach.’ They were just shoveling it on.
Hat tip to Joe Bardi.
