Bill McCollum's Third Quarter

Bill McCollum has been spinning his fundraising numbers. McCollum hasn't officially released his numbers. The RPoF raised $4 million of the $4.5 million in the third quarter. That places McCollum's third quarter at an estimated $500,000. Democratic opponent Alex Sink has raised $1.6 million during the third quarter. Can someone explain to me why the Republican establishment keeps viewing McCollum as a contender.
