Meet Kitty Werthmann

The conservative How To Take Back America Conference had the panel "How to recognize living under Nazis & Communists." Host Janet Porter wrote a glowing and surreal profile on speaker Kitty Werthmann, in the column "Austria in the '30s: Mirror to America." Porter paints a portrait of America that is far from reality. This is not surprising, Porter is a World Net Daily columnist.

The government takeover of the schools immediately replaced crucifixes with pictures of Hitler and Nazi flags. "All religious instruction was replaced with physical education," said Werthmann. No prayer was allowed. That all happened here decades ago. It is interesting, however, that Obama's speech to the captive audience in the government schools – complete with the essay assignment about how students could help him achieve his political goals – was replaced once the American people got wind of it. And speaking of government control of education, if the Senate agrees, all student loans will be government issued, according to a bill that passed the House last week.

Werthmann is even scarier than Porter. She is advocating the armed revolution against the Obama administration. What Werthmann is advocating is treason and the death of people she opposes. She is the last person whom should be comparing fellow Americans to Nazis.

If we had our guns, we would have fought a bloody battle. So, keep your guns, and buy more guns, and buy ammunition. [...] Take back America. Don’t let them take the country into Socialism. And I refer again, Hitler’s party was National Socialism. [...] And that’s what we are having here right now, which is bordering on Marxism.

Werthmann cites the Equal Rights Amendment as a sign of socialism. The Equal Rights amendment failed to get ratified in 1982. Obama wasn't even an elected official in the early eighties.

Werthmann is a member of the South Dakota Eagle Forum. The organization is part of the Christian Right and lobbied for pharmacists not having to refill birth control prescriptions.

Werthmann is selling the DVD "Freedom to Dictatorship in 5 Years." It is amazing how conservatives were silent during the Patriot Act but or enraged that women might get paid as much as men.

Update: the Taking Back America Conference only had 600 attendees.

  1. Huh.

The government takeover of the schools immediately replaced crucifixes with pictures of Hitler and Nazi flags.

It's been a few years since I was in elementary school, but it seems like we always had American flags and pictures of the president.

And that whole "pledge of allegiance" thing must be driving her nuts.

I guess we were taken over by the National Socialist movement back in the 50's, to listen to her.

  2. People, I have heard a lot from a lot of people who had something legitimate to say, BUT, I have to tell you, this woman is a LUNATIC.
Read Berlin Diary by William Shirer
then see if you think President Obama is like Hitler.

  3. Thank goodness for freedom of speech so that people on both sides can be heard. On the contrary, she's not advocating taking up arms against Obama. That's the most TWISTED and sick spin you can take on her relaying her experience and what she stands for. She's advocating that Americans should not give up our civil liberties. But go on... spread your maniacal spiel... People with any use of their brain will be able to think for themselves.

  4. If you do not believe this woman, maybe you would be believe that Chinese woman who wrote The Red Scarf Girl. It is about her experience living through the Glorious Revolution. Very similar to Mrs Werthmann. Have a hard time believing your post when two women living under similar circumstances have similar experiences. Wonder who the real lunatic is here.

  5. wow. I hate to tell this guy, but generals do not get elected here in America. I mean, I don't know how they do it in Turkey, but our generals earn their rank here. And it wouldn't have mattered how much strategy was done because we would have been attacked by Islamic fundamentalists at some point in time because they hate us and all the left wing people don't care(some actually agree with them), so they lobby for these terrorists to be allowed into the country and have rights.

  6. Wow, to say there are some seriously ignorant people out there is a huge understatement. I'm amazed at how quickly stupid Americans are to speak out on a subject they know little to nothing about. And when I say "stupid Americans" I am referring to those who think they have the right to contradict the facts better known by the people who actually lived through it. My mother is Viennese and also lived through the Nazi take-over of Austria, though she was about four years older than Kitty Werthmann at that time. She too came here for a better life; one with freedoms we so carelessly think will be here for all eternity. I've heard first-hand accounts from her and her brother and his wife, along with two dear friends with whom they grew up. These events are true. There are amazing horrors and consequences of their failed understandings that beyond what your clear lack of intellect can comprehend. You people are obviously clueless about the Nazi subject and really should sit down and shut up and listen. This woman is offering great insight, not inciting a riot. She has been speaking out on this for many years, including the Bush years. So contrary to what your apparent tiny and closed minds are capable of conceiving, there are exact parallels that have been unfolding for years. Since you clearly only get your history from school books (which are highly jaded) or Internet blogs, assuming you actually read, or news snippets, you should take this information and research it for yourself. Here's a though: why don't try verifying it with someone else who lived this era. Do you really not understand that we will never learn complete historical accuracies from school books, news, and TV? When you can learn from someone who has lived through such an enormously important historical event on multiple levels, you would be wise to study it further. Kitty Werthmann is not blasting any one individual, rather the powers that so cleverly disguise themselves to deceive us all. We Americans, after all, are easily deceived because we refuse to seek out information for ourselves. We'd rather be spoonfed by the media. It easier and fits better into our busy (read as blinded) lifestyle. The real scare is those of you who do not understand the value of gaining wisdom from others who have been there and done that. This is not about political sides nor a single president. This is about learning from history and being aware. All you naysayers wouldn't a last one day of what others endured for years. The statement "you don't want to go there" has never been so ominous.

  7. You would be amazed at how many people are surprised to hear Hitler visited the schools in the 1920's after WWI LONG before takeovers in the late 30's. My father remembered him coming to his elementary school. This was a long planned and prepared slow build up to the more drastic measures that came later. Why are people surprised? Are they so asleep that they don't see the parallels in what is happening here?
Germany didn't want a socialist (National Socialist is Nazi) they wanted help; JOBS and HEALTHCARE. mmmmm. He gave it to them, didn't he?

  8. When Hitler exterminated over 6 million Jews, it indeed was not the end of the world, but i'm guessing you would be hard pressed to find a Jew who felt that way. He started with class envy. Obama took that play right out of hitler's handbook. The USA is the only barrier to be removed in order for obama to acheive his ultimate goal, World Dictator. He will be more ruthless than Hitler. Just wait and see.

  10. wow, Obama and Hitler both wrote books. Clearly they are cut from the same cloth. How could I have been so blind?

  11. Definitely hits the nail on the head.

The government is subjugating the populace by making it dependent on the government. For more and more “needs” every day. Social programs start out “ensuring the basic needs” of our neediest. Soon they expand to include us all, to a greater and greater extent. For housing. For employment. For medical care. For education. For food. To fund these programs, the government confiscates our wealth. And it even uses the taxation power as a behavior modification tool, encouraging "beneficial" conduct, investments and behavior. And ostensibly for our safety, it confiscates our guns. Eventually, there is complete control and dependency. The opposite of freedom.

But people don’t seem to see this coming. They shortsightedly see only the government “helping” and “providing” and “reforming”. They are placated by docile entertainment: television; radio; movies; videogames; Facebook (and its ilk); spectator sports &c.

There was a reason our Constitution provided only limited powers to the federal government. Too bad the courts have permitted those limitations to be ignored. Too bad the people fail to recognize what’s going on. Hopefully, freedom of the press (and significantly the internet) will enlighten enough of us.

  12. Hitler pushed feminism? Do a web search on Kinder, Kuche, Kirche. He was quite the opposite. Women were encouraged to stay home and make babies for the state.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinder,_K%C3%BCche,_Kirche

I'm betting that time that she recalls where women were sent to the front, employed in factories and where there was strict food rationing were much later in the war - when Germany was losing and allied blockades were keeping food and supplies from flowing in to Germany.

Important questions: there have been many voices speaking out about the horrors and abuses of Nazi Germany. Why are we only hearing from her now?

Why is she the only person denying the violence of the Anschluss, when Hitler annexed Austria?

In her rosy picture of Austria under Hitler, why does she omit any reference to the disarming of Jews, of Kristallnacht, of the round up and murder of Jews?
