Florida Republicans: When In Doubt Turn Right

How I enjoy Republican infighting: the Republican Party of Palm Beach County attempted to censure Gov Charlie Crist for supporting to stimulus. The vote ended in a 65 to 65 tie.

Many in the crowd said Crist had abandoned the party's basic ideologies.

"Republicans have been losing elections because Republicans have abandoned their principles," John Brooks said. "Charlie Crist abandoned our principles. And we if don't oppose Charlie Crist, we are abandoning our principles."

Republicans have been losing elections because they don't know how to govern. Republicans can talk about principles all they want. A Time article illustrates how Marco Rubio has no idea to deal with current problems facing America.

But while Rubio is clearly a fresh face, he's not really pushing fresh ideas. He constantly invokes Ronald Reagan and traditional values but seems uncomfortable with modern problems. His solution for the energy crisis is for government to butt out so that someone can invent a tiny battery that will power a whole city. The only specific critique he made of U.S. health care was that hospitals don't say how much their appendectomies cost, as if patients in acute abdominal pain are looking to comparison-shop. He tweeted that the situation in Iran would be different "if they had a 2nd amendment like ours."

Rubio is unintentionally comical when he is forced to address policy. Rubio's economic policies was borrowing money to pay for the state budget and a tax shift of sales taxes for property taxes. These are not economic answers but utter nonsense from a fiscal illiterate.
