Sink Mum On Public Option

Florida CFO Alex Sink refused to say if she supports a health care public option.

"I don't know what's in that 1,500-page bill,'' Sink said. "I'm waiting for an explanation of what the plan is. Nobody knows what the plan is...You know what I want? I want something that works.''

It's true the health care legislation hasn't been finalized. Sink knows policy and budget costs. The cost trigger Blue Dogs Democrats wants is let the current health care run unchanged for another five years and then talk about offering a public option is stalling. Health care costs are increasing too fast. The industry needs a public option to compete and lower costs. Sink is running for Governor. It would be nice to know what she thinks about health care policy. "Something that works" isn't an answer.
