Neda Agha-Soltan's fiance, Caspian Makan, tells Al-Jazeera about the events leading to Neda's death. Makan said they were driving from a long trip. They stopped and Neda got out of the car to get air. Shortly afterwards she was shot.
Makan said Neda paticipated in silent protests but was not affiliated with any of the candidates. Makan's story of Neda's shooter being Basij militia member matches Arash Hejazi's account.
The Iranian government did not allow Neda's family to hold a funeral in a mosque or their home. Public virgils have been broken up by security forces.
