Charles Bronson Mulls Over Governor's Race

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson told the media he is still placing calls and discussing with his family whether he will enter the Governor's race. RPoF Chairman Jim Greer made it clear the party elites are going to back Attorney General Bill McCollum in the Republican primary.

Q: What kind of pressure are you getting to stay out of the Governor's race?

Bronson: Well, from some levels there's some pressure to have one unified candidate and that type of thing.

Bronson said it would be be for the greater good of the party to have more candidates in the primary.

Bronson said a few things that are odd for a Republican. He talks about tax reform where more Floridians would care about state money if their tax dollars were involved. I'm not sure where he is going with that comment. Some Republicans would read that as a tax increase. Bronson defends state workers. He said state workers are not lazy and their jobs need to be protected.

Bronson is a better general election candidate than McCollum. He doesn't have McCollum's baggage and is more likable. Those are important qualities for a candidate.

Check out The Buzz. The comments by conservative about Greer supporting McCollum over Bronson has been negative. Facebook has the group Recall Jim Greer. Is Greer getting people skill tips from his pal Michael Steele?
