Meet the Kazakhstan Country Director

Former Hillsborough County Republican Party chairman David Storck was fired for forwarding a racist email about Barack Obama voters. The HCRP has been rocked by controversy and disorganization. The HCRP decided to take decisive action by hiring Rep. Leslie Water's former "Kazakhstan Country Director", Joshua Burgin, as Party Administrator. Apparently being Kazakhstan Country Director leads to job oppurtunities in the GOP.

TAMPA – Deborah Cox-Roush, Hillsborough County Republican Party Chairman, announced today that Joshua Burgin was selected by the Executive Board to take on the position of Party Administrator. Burgin will be introduced to members at the first Republican Executive Committee meeting of the year on January 20th at the Blaise Alfano Convention and Conference Center.

After advertising and interviewing a diverse group of qualified candidates, members of the Executive Board enthusiastically recommended him for the position. Burgin is well known locally, managing three Republican campaign offices during the November elections, and impressed volunteers, office staff and party leaders with his political know-how and skillful use of technology. He’s expected to expand the party’s grassroots efforts, which consistently have been the strength of Hillsborough’s Republican Party.

Chairman Cox-Roush noted that “He demonstrates not only a new way of doing business but reflects the forward-thinking attitude that has been adopted by our newly elected party leadership team. It’s our new motto, “There’s no past in politics, only the future. The Republican Party in Hillsborough intends to lead in that direction.”

Burgin is the brother of state rep. Rachel Burgin. The female Burgin was an aide to former Trey Traviesa. Traviesa quit the race after winning the primary. The party shockingly chose Rachel Burgin to run in Traviesa's place. Burgin has no college degree and never ran for office before. Qualifications nearly as stellar as Kazakhstan Country Director.

  1. Blogs should be a space for intelligent discourse; however, the rampant use of logical fallacies, as here makes most blogs a joke. Look up ad hominems or more specifically ad hominem abusive. You should study logic and argument before posting.
The truth is, Josh actually went to Kazakhstan, and worked with them to set up grassroots political activism. Not a bad training groud for a position which is aimed at working with grassroots in Hillsborough. He was interview, by a board, and selected from numberous qualified candidates by a Bank President, an Attorney, an Owner of a catering company, a teacher, a retired police officer to name a few.

  2. removing rachel has to be a priority for area dems. the great thing about the GOP picking Josh is that he has them all believing he is a 'breath of fresh air' and 'technologically savy' -- he's done a great job selling himself as such. the truth of the matter is that he is not good at managing people or following through on tasks and although he may 'wow' some with his tech experience it amounts to no more than an ability to code in HTML and pull off some small routines in excel.

don't let the above poster discourage you (i'm sure it won't) -- we have to follow this burgin clan and keep them as far away from impacting our community as possible.

  3. Joshua Burgins work as Kazakhstans country director has absalutely nothing to do with Rep. Waters. Burgin was hired by the International Republican Institute, which has nothing to do with Florida Politics at all.

  4. 12:32? You should impact the community then. The "above poster" actually had facts, which is more than you seem to post. How do you know he is not good at managing people. As a "dem" you probably have not had the chance to know. Please back up your comments with more than conjecture, and you will have some credit. Actual examples seem to be good evidence. IF they are false, you will be liable so be careful (see Google case now in courts to release identification of anonymous posters who post unsubstantiated lies). Further, you don't manage anyone in the position he has, you do what the leaders tell you to. So your point is irrelevant.
