There was no tenents in the Blair House when Barack Obama asked President Bush, if he could stay in the Blair House. Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard will stay at the Blair House for one night. The kicker is he was asked by the Bush administration to take up a one day residence to receive the Medal of Freedom. Bloomberg journalist Margaret Carlson told Keith Olbermann the Blair House could have accommodated both Obama and Howard.
I reported…on December 11 and 12 that there were no foreign dignitaries booked into Blair House during that period of time. … I have the feeling they asked him [Howard] to come and stay so that there might be some plausible reason for not letting the Obamas stay there.
Maybe Howard needs a lot a space. Maybe The White House is running out of excuses. Personally, I am looking forward to the inauguration.
This is just another thing that makes a thinking person say, 'hmm, sad.' 2009 is the year for change though.
