Obama Up By 5 In Hillsborough County

The St. Petersburg Times reports the Politico/InsiderAdvantage poll shows Barack Obam 5 points ahead in Hillsborough County. Sarasota County is tied. Another factor is Obama's superior fundraising and not going with public financing is paying off. Obama is beating McCain with TV ad time.

Obama is drowning out McCain on local airwaves. According to the latest analysis by the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project, Obama aired 1,069 TV ads in the bay area from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, while McCain aired just 369. Tampa Bay ranked as Obama's second-busiest TV market nationally, behind Las Vegas, while it didn't crack the top 10 markets for McCain.

If Obama wins big that will help Hillsborough County Commission candidate Kevin Beckner. A black man, on the top of of the ticket, may help a gay man get elected.
