You might also want to note that the Florida Democratic Party does not set the election date. Instead the date was set by a law written by the Republican controlled legislature and signed by the Republican Governor. The Democratic legislative leadership objected to the January 29th date and tried to remove that from the bill before it passed the legislature.
The Governor and legislature set the earliest the primaries can be held. The FDP (including Bill Nelson and Karen Thurman) voted to hold the Dem primary on Jan 29 against the DNC rules.
