I'm a New England boy so I can't blog about Florida issues, but I know Pushing Rope is a Florida blog so let me ask the readers here... What exactly is Charlie Crist, a Republican, thinking when he calls for the Democrats to re-hold their primaries in his state? Is he trying to score some political points? Is he simply being a moron? Or is it a little of both?

Nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's no skin off his back if he can help complicate the nomination process for Democrats. And, by doing so, he builds on his reputation as a sensible moderate willing to work on bridging the divide.
I think also in general the GOP feels better about their chances going against Hillary than they do Obama.
