Compassionate Conservatism: Katrina Victims Deserved To Be Smitten

John McCain recently received the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee. The good Pastor said that New Orleans residents deserved the horrors of Hurricane Katrina because of their evil gay agenda.

"All hurricanes are acts of God because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God. And they were recipients of the judgement of God for that. The newpaper carried the story in our local area that was not carried nationally."

"There was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that Katrina came and the promise of that parade was it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other gay pride parades. And I believe that the hurricane Katrina was in fact the judgement of God against the city of New Orleans."

It's amazing how many gay-bashing preachers are also meteorologists. Anti Steve Stanton crusader Rev. Ron Sanders blamed Katrina and 9/11 on gay people.

He pointed to the 911 terrorist attacks and the devastation of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina.

Sanders said the gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyle is “an abomination against God.” He said if the city allows Stanton to stay in office, “He will be a hero to all of those weirdos from New Orleans who are looking for a new home.”

It's hard to feel the love of Christ in Sanders' tirade.

We must not forget the King of natural disasters: Pat Robertson. He incorrectly predicted that Orlando would immediately be hit several forms of natural disasters. Disney decided to hang rainbow flags for their annual Gay Days event.

"I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you," warned Robertson. "[A] condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs, it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes and possibly a meteor."

I'm disappointed that Robertson forgot the flying locust.
