I have no idea what to make of the results of the CNN New Hampshire exit polls. Hillary Clinton and John McCain are the most hawkish candidates in their parties. Anyone want to make sense of this.
Putting on my political science hat again, the average voter -- even the average primary voter -- doesn't know most issue stances for most candidates. Most voters don't based on issues, but on perceived values or characteristics of the candidate, an overall mood of like or dislike for the incumbent party, perception of the state of the economy or a generalized perception of the overall issue stances of the candidates (which are frequently incorrect). The research shows that it's rare to find more than 20% of voters voting based on actual issue stances.

ReplyDeleteIt makes NO sense. Diebold.
ReplyDeleteDennis Kucinich is asking for a recount.
not for himself, of course but because diebold counted EIGHTY PERCENT of the votes.
Corporate control of elections is rampant. It HAS to stop.
It's not who votes it's who counts them.
