Resistance is Futile

I have finally figured out the appeal of Ron Paul. His followers are like the Borg. They hold a meet-up and assimilate. They have spread to Oslo. Resistance truly is futile. (That is until people learn Paul's positions on issues, besides Iraq.)

A Democratic source who is in Oslo today as Al Gore picks up his Nobel and is not totally aware of the passion of the Paulites sends in this dispatch:

"Hard to say why, but there is a significant Ron Paul for President contingent with signs and banners outside [Gore's] hotel."

Where is a Star Trek geek, with a phaser, when you need him.

  1. You almost understand. The power of the borg is that they co-opt the best technology and integrate it into a defined matrix. Well, Paul is popular because he has done the same thing with ideas. He has taken the best political ideas from the past and found a coherent matrix to asseble it. Of course, he found that most of his matrix is already established in the Constitution, so he just defends the Constitution.

This movement is like the borg's without the killing, slave labor, and cybernetics. But resistance isn't futile. Without resistance, the fascists and socialists wouldn't have a voice in government. Yeah Democracy!
