Seven Single Member Districts For Hillsborough County

Citizens for Equal County Representation have launched a petition to have seven regional districts for Hillsborough County. The Commisioner currently has four regional regional districts and three county-wide districts. CECR needs 37,202 signitures on the petition to make the ballot. The organization also needs volunteers.

The dynamic duo at Tampa Bay Blue like the idea. I would prefer six regional districts and 3 county-wide seats. I like the idea of commissioners having to answer to the whole county. The problem is we need better candidates to run for the BOCC. Kevin White is in a sex scandal and Brian Blair's campaign contributions from Wellcare have become news. The currect incumbants have been less than stellar.
