You know, I think it's an excellent question, too. Why? Because it shows the mindset of the Republican base, and what they are focused on... They aren't zoning in on winning the presidency, they are afraid of that "bitch" even sniffing the White House. And if that "bitch" wins the nomination, could you imagine the shitstorm it would cause on the right? I mean, if you even say the word "bitch" to a Republican now, they know exactly who you're talking about.
You know, when I talked with my Mom the other night -- who really leans conservative -- and she told me that she would consider voting for Obama, even if he ran against McCain, that really opened my eyes. Hillary, as evidenced by her new nickname (OK, OK, maybe it's not so new) really is a focal point of hate for the right. I mean, we've all known this before, but I'm talking really really really REALLY the focal point. On a scale of ten, Hillary peaks at 35. If Democrats arre stupid enough to give her the nomination, then they stand a good chance of losing the White House again.
At this point, I think the decision is as simple as Obama = Certain Victory, Hillary = Incredibly unpredictable race, leaning towards defeat. It's like having to choose between Josh Beckett and C.C. Sabathia to pitch the biggest game of the season. The choice should be easy, but leave it to the John Kerry nominating Democratic Party to not see such...
