Crist Backs Backs Water Resources Development Act

Charlie Crist sent a letter to Florida's Congressional delegation asking them to override Bush's veto of the Water Resources Development Act.

"While I appreciate the president's concern over the total cost of the bill, WRDA 2007 authorizes several vital water projects throughout our state, including necessary Everglades restoration projects," Crist wrote.

He goes on to underscore that Florida has kept its end of the promise back in the Bill Clinton-Jeb Bush days to make the multibillion-dollar Everglades re-plumbing job a 50/50 split between the state and feds.

"Failure to (override Bush's veto) will cause greater delays, increased costs and drastically hamper the restoration effort."
