Ralph Nader Hints At Running

Like a virus that won't go away, Ralph Nader is hinting that he will run for President. He also bashes Nancy Pelosi for not being progressive enough. The latter is laughable. Pelosi is a San Franciso liberal. No one mistakes her for a card-carrying member of the DLC.

Air America has the audio of the interview.

It is hysterical to listen to Nader criticize Edwards and Obama for not running effective campaigns against Hillary Clinton. What would Nader know about campaign strategy? He is the far-left version of Mickey Kaus. His sthick is attacking Democrats. It's not about getting elected. Nader has dwindled his base to a level that would make Alan Keyes blush. Lefties helping Bush get elected and then throwing up their hands saying 'not my fault' is getting old.

  1. I have a little grumbling here with all parties involved...

Yes, NAder really doesn't know anything about campaigning. If he did, he'd stop announcing his candidacy really, really late -- like he did in 2000 and 2004. And in 2000, he would have let a campaign manager handle allaspects of his campaign instead of Nader himself approving every little thing, and shooting down good ideas like this campaign commercial for dumbass reasons like it's exploiting children (his actual reasoning!). But Nader didn't lose the 2000 election -- Gore did. Gore lost by not only refusing to portray himself as more to the left, but he still won yet lost anyways because he refused to fight against Bush's coup. Gore won the election but conceded -- that wasn't Nader's fault.

As far as Nader in 2008 goes, the man was a non-factor in 2004. He'll be even less of a factor in 2008. Actually, I shouldn't say that Nader was a non-factor in 2004 since his actions did help put a bullet into an already injured Green Party, effectively killing any force it could have become politically. (Though, given the Greens' lack of ability to keep their shit together, it's doubtful that they would have done much without Nader's meddling.) Now the left has lost its chance at having a viable, progressive third party -- so maybe Democrats should thank Nader.

  2. Isn't he dead already?

I have too many friends that are absolutely POed that they voted for him in 2000, and see what we got for that when they should have been voting Democrat.

They laughed at me when I told them they were throwing away their votes. Now, I'm not sure who's laughing. :(
