Now, I've got to tell you -- I mean, why do we wear pins? Because our country was under attack. And to politicize once again the war to this extent. Well, who cares about the war? Are you proud of your country? Do you believe in America? Do you believe that America has been, continues to be the greatest force for good in this world?
It's a silly attack and has nothing to do with Obama's fitness for President. God forbid Sean Hannity should actually talk about wonkish policy matters. He can't since he doesn't understand policy. If Hannity wants to attack people for not wearing American flag pins then I am more than happy to oblige him.
Anyone can attack another person's patriotism. Joe McCarthy perfected the art. He placed the mention of God in the Pledge of Allegiance as a political wedge. Critics rhat objected because of the separation of church and state had their patriotism and Christianity placed in doubt. His scare attacks became so famous that the label McCarthyism was created. The truth is McCarthy was a self-loathing alcoholic who had the equally brutal Roy Cohn as hias pllitical hatchet man. The latter spent his adult life making the gay community miserable. He died of of AIDS in 1986.
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross."
