It is past time for the Florida Democratic Party to ask Gary Siplin to resign from the Florida Senate. He already has one felony against him. Now that is good indication he used his position to
threaten Brenda Averill's job.
Sipkin was issued a ticket for driving down a closed road. He went off on the deputy and told him her would get him fired. The Florida Commission of Ethics will hold a hearing. Democrats shouldn't wait for the findings and move in the Senate to have Sipkin removed.
Sadly, Sipkin's previous felony doesn't prevent him from serving in the Senate. It says much that members of both parties won't change ethics rules to rid themselves of a man that
stole thousands in taxpayer dollars.
