Shakes shows her distain for Hooters new fish tacos. For those that have been living in a cave, fish taco is slang for vagina. There are cruder variations of the slang term. I explained in the comments that the Hooters chain built their market campaign from starting out in Tampa.
Hooters started in the Tampa area. Another thing the town I live in as contributed to America. Tampa is also known as the strip club and porn capital of the SouthEast. Tampa is also known for Gasparilla.
From a Feb. 9, 2000, letter to the Tampa Tribune written by a Riverview woman: "We experienced the Gasparilla parade. Instead of fun for all, it was trouble, beer and bared breasts for all."
This is the demographic the first Hooters restaurant was marketing to. What does that say about Hooters?
What does this say about Tampa?
exactly.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my new favorite post.
they've reached a new low.
but ... those wings .... couldn't tell ya never had one.
Wow, I never thought I'd see liberals get so up in arms about a little double-entendre. I guess the Ronda Storms crowd and y'all have more in common than you thought. As my pappy used to say, jokes like these show as much about the listener as the speaker. A dirty joke means nothing to an innocent mind. You already have to be thinking along those lines for it to be anything more than an advertisement for tacos de pescado.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a dirty joke, but I still think Hooters is nasty. I've had the wings as a catering item at a party and I thought they were highly. highly overrated.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention something about those shiny tights is so frgging dated.
I can't figure out why anyone would go there, but no one's doing anything wrong. Women aren't being forced to work there and no one's being forced to eat there.
I think you probably see more skin (that you also likely didn't want to see) from the waitresses at Rick's.
Did you see the big flap over the Pink Tacos place in Nevada or somewhere like that?
This may be a dumb question, but do they actually have an item on the menu that includes sea-faring matter inbetween a taco shell?

ReplyDeleteFrom my understanding: yes.

No, I haven't.
