"Redner is connected to the adult industry that many people find offensive, if not downright immoral. And let’s face it. Of all the shady businesses to own, a strip club is among the very darkest. The nature of the business brings out all sorts of drunks, drug addicts and just uneasy people."
Tommy Duncan, editor of Sticks of Fire.
Take that Joe Redner. It is a good thing Mr. Family Values sells these T-shirts of his Sticks of Fire Cafe Press site.
What I love about Stickheads is that they never actually address my points of contention with the blog. There is hypocrisy to blast a strip club owner and then sell a T-shirt of a stripper. Plus, I find the hypocrisy to be great comedy material.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about the Illustrious Potentate of the RopeDopes is how he can read a set of words and make up any old story he wants even if it's not supported by the facts. The context of the article is that the Times was backdoor endorsing Redner because of course he's not the most shining example of local politicians. The article merely pointed out that he was a difficult candidate to openly endorse due to his association with strip clubs and the image they convey. The post itself never gave a personal opinion of Redner so no hypocrisy, only imagined fuel for your personal crusade. Thanks for playing. Michael, surely you could locate more pressing issues than trying to find a gotcha on other bloggers.

ReplyDeleteDo you have reading comprehension skills? Tommy Duncan offered offered his own opinion on Redner's business. Read the quote.

These anonymous comments reek of Kate.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of quotes, i visit strip clubs once in a while and i am none of the above. i think you need to tame that ego of yours and stop slamming local bloggers. i don't know what i did but somehow found myself off your blog roll. one day you are going to find yourself all alone, well, you will always have vox.
Oh Illuminated One, can I just call you Dopey? Certainly I cannot speak for Tommy. However, it's interesting that you used the term comprehension, as it signifies completeness and understanding as part of the whole, not just singling out a lone piece. Again, in context, Tommy was referring to the endorsement and Joe's business history. Owning a strip joint has vastly different connotations that merely patronizing them, or accepting their existence. Sticks of Fire is vertibly all things Tampa and as you so astutely noted in an earlier post, it is one of the things Tampa is world-famous for. Perhaps you should untwist your knickers and find something better to focus on. Are you this hard-up for material? Oh wait, I get it, you need to mention Sticks to get traffic from the Blab because most of your other articles are rather bland. Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down.... Kick 'em where they sit, kick 'em all around.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for comparing me to Kate, she's the bomb. Wrong answer, but I know what a hard-on you have for her too. Better luck next time.
Ummmm stogie, no one speaks for me but thanks for dragging me into this; it's another thinly-disguised attempt to garner some of my attention. Okay, here's a few seconds of it, I'll spread it around .....
ReplyDeleteFor the record, ummmm I am not on Michael's blog-roll and I do not consider that a sign of disrespect nor otherwise. It's his fucking blogroll. For god's sake. I guess that's his business. Send back your decoder ring, then !
I intend to re-do my own at earliest convenience and his advice on same is foremost in my mind. I think that the idea of pressuring someone to put you on their blogroll is ....
Actually, here, I agree with Michael. I smell fish. That can only mean katie of the new boobs is here. whobestankinuptheplace?
There is another female blogger here local (LOL) whom I'll leave unnamed but (to the point) I suspect that due to her utter inability to string over three words together coherently that tuna writes her posts, too.
At any rate, some of you folks are real trouble-makers and need to get up out of the fishbowl some.
Michael is HANDS-DOWN the best there is in this circle. He does what I like .. he brings his MIND. And proof of a soul. What the fuck else does he need online?
For the record, he and I disagree on a couple of rather large issues.
The best thing about him: he isn't even IN this circle; not swimming with this school of fish. I dig that.
Tampa is not that entertaining (never has been, it's about as interesting as old shit on your shoes) and anyone who delimits themselves thus --- well, that means you have a different set of priorities. It's as simple as that.
It's like what's her face the tuna out in the field trying to draw me into a lil blogger catfight. A. completely disinteresting (I'd rather argue with gwen what's her name and that's no contest, either) b. battle of the wits out of the question LOL c. her world is far too small for two to roll around in.
Like in Troy: "IS THERE ANYONE ELSE?????" get real.
Michael is out of the league of most people and I say that with NO IDEA if he and the rest of you are bosom buddies in another sphere. Don't care.
He joshes me, too. So what? He's fucking smart. Steal that from him.
Oh, you can't.
SO you bring your dumb anonymous hairless selves here and it comes off just as it is: babies swinging lunch pails. Actually, kids have more sense.
I'll thank you to leave me out of your silly ass fights.
You guys try to color tampa with false chalk. I don't buy it. I'm not even interested. If I have an agenda it's certainly not shared with anyone else online in the Tampa osphere. Deal with it.
People are allowed to be unique. Yeah, they are. The thing about comments is an ass is an ass is an ass and that's why Michael is right in his ass-essment of these comments.
And she(s) knows it.
I gotta say this: I don't think Michael has stick envy.
Everything always finds it's own level.
Again: deal with it.
Some people have more ego than anything. That's where they get ya.
Ya gotta have more goin for ya than that.
Give it up for the slow seats.
They need the adulation.
It's all they got.
Kate may be too busy for anonymous commenting. She is feverishly signing up for blogger accounts so that she can continue to have assholes (such as herself) write anonymous baits on her blog about people who won't stoop to her level.
Oh and then she can start saying we hate on her because she is jewish. (what an ass)
"Anonymously" of course.
Ms.Robinson, surely by now you have feverishly made ENOUGH anonymous blogger id's and you can come over here just for a change and have the HEART to fight your own battles.
Nah. Doubtful.
But don't worry Michael, you'll always have vox.
I'm sure you'll sleep better now.
FUCKING LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and notice I made this whole comment without suggesting that any of you go fuck or blow each other.
I don't know how I managed that.
Maybe it's cause my OWN sex life ROCKS. Don't need to talk about it when ya got it.
Michael?????
"The nature of the business brings out all sorts of drunks, drug addicts and just uneasy people."
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of quotes, i visit strip clubs once in a while and i am none of the above. i think you need to tame that ego of yours and stop slamming local bloggers.
Stogie, do you have reading comprehension skills? That comes off as you are attributing Tommy Duncan's quote to me?!? The guy thinks people who goes to strip clubs are scum. He has no problem seeling tacky t-shirts to them. That was the point of the post. I on the other hand have a more postive view towards strippers. I had a stripper as a friend.
I will continue to bash local bloggers if they keep pushing the hatemongering views of beating up homeless people and killing Muslims. You should spend less time trying to silence me and more holding Tim Fasano and Rachel Moran accountable for their words. I haven't told them what they should write about. I am more them happy to point out their views are disrespectful towards others.
I use the blogroll as bookmarks for sites I go to. Since I don't read your blog there is no point keeping it on there. I edited the role recently and eliminated others. The only people guaranteed to be on the blogroll are Zencomix And Sine.Qua.Non and Litbrit.
I'm on the Shakesville blogroll, but not Majikthise. Lindsey has linked me in more posts than Melissa. Should I pressure Lindsey to blogroll me? I think not.
Oh, thanks for comparing me to Kate, she's the bomb. Wrong answer, but I know what a hard-on you have for her too. Better luck next time.
As desirable as puke on burnt toast.
It's such a shame you suffer from Stick envy. Freud would be amused.
Saying I have Sticks envy is like stating that Jon Stewart secretly wanted his show to be like Crossfire. Stewart's exchange on CF sums up my feeling about SOF.
STEWART: Will jump on it. In many ways, it's funny. And I made a special effort to come on the show today, because I have privately, amongst my friends and also in occasional newspapers and television shows, mentioned this show as being bad.
Litbrit writes on Shakesville and Erza Klein's blog. She is a well-respected blogger. She can't get any attention locally. Ditto with Florida Kossacks run by St Pete's Gatordem. The Tampa blogoshpere is hostile towards progressives. The reason that Litbrit and Gatordem don't blog on Sticks is it is a conservative site. Kate blogs there because she really isn't a progressive. Litbrit and I consider her blog hysterically bad.
""I will continue to bash local bloggers if they keep pushing the hatemongering views of beating up homeless people and killing Muslims. ReplyDeleteYeah, where's that guy come up with that? (the whole muslim thing about VirginiaTech was ....shrieky)
I LOVE how Mrs. Robinson pretends she doesn't read over here. LOL !! I sooooo picture her among about less than a dozen blogs each morning while she slurps coffee and ignores her children and decides which students will be the victims of her barbs that day.
I was staying away from the whole tshirt thing but I have to admit when I FIRST saw that tshirt in the store I was thinking how kinda scary it might be to run into someone who might wear that out in public. (tampa is strip clubs)
On the other hand, this person could be a light of honesty.
Tampa totally IS.
I had no idea that Tampa had the reputation as the nude cap. of the world. Was impressed in some way or another.
Kate acts like she is leaving the internet when she leaves tampa. Kate is one of those people who will NEVER go away. Like a bad penny. And, she'll live on in the minds of some poor unfortunate young people until they are much older and shake that crud off them.
Give me a good honest stripper anyday rather than a bag of wind as a teacher.
It looks like you spent a lots of time in this article. It is so impressive. This article looks so cool. I do share this blog. Now its time to avail Accident Repair Services in Washington DC for more information.
