I am being a rotten friend lately as I have neglected to post Robert Dowling's truly amazing new paintings. Go get 'em:
Art Alfresco is truly art available to all people - beginning in Battery Park.
BTW: I was clicking through TV channels looking for a movie when Bill Kristol said Imus is a liberal on FoxChris Wallace show. LMFAO! He is implying that liberals are agonizing over the Imus' firing and show cancellation. No agonizing here. I have yet to see any true liberal agonize over the fate of Imus. Seriously. Am I missing something? I've always found Imus insulting and a prick. But then, Bill Kristol is a jerk, too. I don't listen to either.
Damnit to hell. I realize these incidents happen. I just wish they didn't and not so often. We really need more hatred coming our way over there. Not.
BULLSHIT: "I know that I did not -- and would not -- ask for the resignation of any U.S. attorney for an improper reason."
Tax Day: Here's to hoping I have overpaid again this year. I'm preparing mine after I finish this post. Nothing like the last minute. Cripes....that just made me crave a cigarette, desperately. TAX TIME Resources
IMUS: What they have to say over at Echidne about blacklists of ideas and the free speech advocacy.
Human-driven warming of the climate poses risks to the national security of the United States
The effects of global warming, the study said, could lead to large-scale migrations, increased border tensions, the spread of disease and conflicts over food and water. All could lead to direct involvement by the United States military.
The report recommends that climate change be integrated into the nation’s security strategies and says the United States “should commit to a stronger national and international role to help stabilize climate changes at levels that will avoid significant disruption to global security and stability.”
The report, called “National Security and the Threat of Climate Change,” was commissioned by the Center for Naval Analyses, a government-financed research group, and written by a group of retired generals and admirals called the Military Advisory Board.
Next Vacation: Portland (either that or somewhere in Europe)
"NICE” is an adjective that Portland, Ore., can't seem to shake. But below the fleece-clad and Teva-wearing exterior lurks a cool and refreshingly unneurotic city that marches to its own cosmopolitan beat. Truth is, Portland doesn't want to be Seattle, its highly caffeinated neighbor to the north. With less traffic, better public transportation and Mount Hood in its backyard, this self-styled City of Roses doesn't stand in anybody's shadow. Its vibrant downtown overflows with urban pleasures like chic restaurants, funky nightclubs and spritely neighborhoods crackling with youthful energy, but nobody's boasting. That's another nice thing about Portland.

Would it be trite to say that the more things change, the more things stay the same? One of the many tragedies about the Republican Party's rush to invade and occupy Iraq is just how predictable the awful outcome was. It's hard to fault anyone for wanting to be optimistic about such things, but optimism without overwhelming arguments to demonstrate that a new invasion and occupation wouldn't go like previous invasions and occupations wasn't optimism at all — it was unjustified fantasy. One might as well take seriously the ravings of someone high on drugs.
I agree: Impeachment is off the table. Put their law-breaking ass in prison, preferably Abi Ghraib or Gitmo.

I'm worried that Arcade Fire is:
ReplyDeletea). Not getting enough exposure
b). Not enough guys have crushes on Sarah Neufeld
a) That would be a shame since Arcade Fire is hot! b) I have a crush on all the guys....does that make up for Sarah?
ReplyDeleteRead the Arcade Fire comments on Youtube and guys are drooling over Sarah. She made some music blog poll for most hottest. Jenny Lewis won the poll.
