Safety First

Litbrit pointed out this gem on Nadine Smith's arrest.

Fliers present a fire hazard; plus, when they end up on the floor, people can slip on them, McMullen said.

"Flyers are a safety hazard." So that is why they arrested Smith. Truly Daily Show material. I wonder if someone would have gotten arrested on a felony charge for leaving a banana peel on the floor. People can slip on those.

  1. But...but...fliers can be made into paper airplanes! By TERR-ists! Spitballs, too!

    Why do liberals hate America?

And flyers must be approved by the city. Does the city look for slip proof paper or just censor the political content of flyers?
The safety problem goes away when the flyer has official city approval?

I am a big supporter of our police agencies but it's hard to defend them when politicians give them such stupid and unconstitutional assignments.

Maybe Largo wanted to top St. Pete's dedication to safety. My city used the pretext of safety to send officers out with boxcutters to slash and seize tents from homeless residents.
