Color me unimpressed with the John Edwards campaign hiring Jennifer O'Malley as Iowa state director. That state will be key for Edwards presidential hopes.
O'Malley was Jim Davis's campaign manager in his bid for Governor. I wrote about how the Davis campaign was so disorganized that they could not get bumper stickers and signs to volunteers. Some Democratic supporters ended up volunteering for Charlie Crist.
O'Malley was Edwards state director in Iowa in 2004. John Kerry ended up winning the state. She was also Tom Tom Daschle's deputy campaign manager in 2004. We all know how shocked Democrats were to see their Senate leader lose.
In fairness: she did chalk up a win on Tim Johnson's South Dakota 2002 Senate campaign. I'm mainly judging her on the Jim Davis campaign and she did have a horrible candidate. If anyone can tell me why O'Malley's hiring is a good idea; I'm all ears.
Jim Johnson runs campaigns on the Republican side. I throw this at him and sees what he thinks.
She has a great last name!
ReplyDeleteIf you actually knew what you were talking about then you would know that Jen O'Malley was not the state director in '04. The state director was Rob Berntsen. I only wish I had seen this earlier to point out your true incompentence in doing research. My guess is you have a problem with strong women. Grow-up and get over yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhether she was or not, the fact is that she has an impressive resume, she has done amazing things for the country, a few controversies, but in general she is good.
ReplyDeleteIt is a complicated topics , as soon as I read I felt more confused , please share extra info about it!
