The 1/2 Hour News Hour

Fox News is starting their weekly comedy show called called The 1/2 Hour News Hour. This is the Right's answer to The Daily Show. The program was developed by 24 Executive Producer Joel Surnow. He is also a good friend of Rush Limbaugh. This is a sample of the humor Surnow is dishing up.

One seg discusses the timeless popularity on campus of T-shirts bearing the iconic image of Che Guevara. "We spin it into a campus T-shirt salesman who also sells T-shirts of Mao and Hitler," said co-producer Manny Coto.

Okay. I'm not laughing. And this is someone who loves politically incorrect humor.

TV critic Hal Boedeker offers a review of the first episode.

Jon Stewart knows how to do slashing comical commentary. He weighs in on what's happening, such as the media's bizarre coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death.

David Letterman knows how to do slashing comical commentary. He takes President Bush's awkward speeches and contrasts them with the lasting words of John F. Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt.

Fox News Channel does not know how to do slashing comical commentary. The channel debuts "The 1/2 Hour News Hour" at 10 p.m. Sunday and repeats it at 10 p.m. Feb. 25. This show was meant to be a conservative version of "The Daily Show." It is a botch.

Boedeker is wondering what a comedy show is doing on a news channel Apparently, he has never watched Hannity and Colmes. A comedian couldn't make better parodies of conservatives and liberals than the hyperventilating Hannity and the mousey Colmes.

Here is the official preview of The 1/2 Hour News Hour.

  1. What's funny is I followed a link to this "show" that went to Hot Air, and even there they thought it wasn't funny.

There were a few that found it hilarious, but I imagine they just laugh at anything... like:

Blah Blah Blah Pelosi Blah Blah Blah!

    HAHAHAHAHA!

Blah Blah Blah Cindy Sheehan Blah Blah!

    HAHAHAHAHA!

    Clinton! Edward Kennedy! HILLARY!

    LOLHAHAHAROFLLOLHAHAHAHA!

    Get my drift?

  2. People are always listening to liberal comedians, so when a conservatives come around, it is either not funny or racists. A video politically incorrect comedy site called ourcountry.com is trying to do same thing. Maybe you should criticize them out too.
