James Carville Throws His Bluster Around

More proof that no one in the Democratic Party care what James Carville has to say. This time from DCCC Chairman Rahm Emanuel.

"Here were Carville and pollster Stan Greenberg telling him he had to make each of his handpicked candidates shift from attack mode and strike a conciliatory note in their final campaign ads.

"'James. No James, YOU LISTEN,' Emanuel barked into a cell phone, about to release a string of profane invectives more intense than usual. 'Can you listen for one [expletive] minute? I'm working these campaigns all the time. The campaigns all have different textures.' His wiry body tensed, his voice breaking with stress. Emanuel shouted, 'If you don't like what you see, I highly recommend you pick up the . . . phone and do it yourself.'

First Carville is trying to get Howard Dean removed. Now he feels entitled to give Emanuel orders. Carville blames Dean for not winning more Democratic races.

"He should be held accountable," one of those strategists, James Carville, the manager of Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign, said of Dean. "I would describe his leadership as Rumsfeldian in its incompetence."

Carville made these remarks at a breakfast he invited several journalists to. Carville was sending his message loudly with a bullhorn.

"Did he not see that we won?" said DNC communications director Karen Finney. Obviously, Carville did. So why has he been barking orders at Dean and Emanuel before the election. The publicity generated from this is negative. It has increased Carville's exposure. Like or hate Dean. Does he deserve his leadership being labeled "Rumsfeldian in its competence"? That's a personal shot if there ever was one.
