"The thing is I need to be where I need to be to win. The Pensacola numbers are pretty good," said Crist, insisting that he was not avoiding the president.
That's the official reason and Charlie is sticking to it.
Update: Crist's numbers maybe good in Pensacola, but Bush's are lousy.
Bush support is not so strong, however, in the Pensacola community of Brownsville, where many residents are struggling to make ends meet.
"I don't think President Bush is concerned about us," said Dwanda Richardson, 32. "He is more concerned about big business and high-income people."
