Alex Sink On Private Contracts

CFO candidate Alex Sink outlines her position on private contractors.

Alex Sink, a Tampa Democrat running for state chief financial officer, has come up with a unique campaign pledge: She says she will "make sure that taxpayers are getting their money's worth. If we aren't - if we're being ripped off - then I won't pay the bills."

I don't have a problem with private contractors who do their jobs well and honestly. Companies like Corrections Corporation of America should not be getting contracts from state or county governments.

"Tampa's own Sink has the best shot at landing one of those Cabinet-level offices," wrote Wayne Garcia. "Several polls have put her ahead of both Republican opponents. She credits Floridians' desire to see balance restored in state government."
