Scammers Make Money Off Homeless Men's Death

Some people will find anyway to expoloit the helpless to make a buck.

Helen Golay, 75, and Olga Rutterschmidt, 73, were charged last week with eight counts of federal mail fraud for collecting more than $2 million from policies they held on the two homeless men, Paul Vados and Kenneth McDavid.

It gets more more bizarre. Both homeless men died shortly after the waiting period to collect on their policies. Vados was killed in a hit-and-run. McDavid was found dead in an alley. The cases are being investigated as homocides.

My question is how did Golay and Rutterschmidt pick these men out? I have a hard time believing that they were next of kin to both men. They buried Vados in an unmarked grave. Randy Hansen, who dates Vados' daughter, had to move the body to a family plot. He has no idea who these women are. These women just didn't pick these men's name out of a hat. I want to know how they were able to put policies on these men.
