District 1 No Longer Safe For Donkeys

To show just how pathetic the Democratic Party has become in Tampa, A Republican will most likely win the HCC district 1 seat. Kathy Castor currently holds district 1. Democratic frontrunner Deborah Cope raised $22,000. Compare that to Republican Rose Ferlita's $218,000.

A major problem for this is Janee Murphy's leadership. She alienated rising star Phyllis Busansky. There has been infighting amongst DEC members. She has failed to aggressively canvas districts and been out-fundraised by Republicans. When the safest Democratic county district turns red it is time for someone's head to roll.

"Rising star" Busansky? How can a former County Commissioner who hasn't been in office for a decade be considered a "rising" star?

Plus I would say that District 3 is the safest Democratic distict.

Nevertheless, the Hillsborough Democratic Party - like it's state counterparty - needs some significant help.

The DCCC named Busansky a rising star.
