The Joe In Joementum

Update on a previous post.

Joe Lieberman gets an endorsement from Republican Congressman Chris Shays.

A spokesman for 4th District Republican Congressman Chris Shays tells News Channel 8 that Shays has spoken to both Governor Jodi Rell and State Republican Party Chairman George Gallo about cross endorsing democratic U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman in this fall's election.

Shays told the editorial board of the Stamford Advocate newspaper that he plans to vote for Lieberman.

It stems from Shay's strong support for the way President Bush has conducted the war in Iraq.

Liberman said he will not accept Shays endorsement. Lieberman is currently polling at 55 percent among Democrats and 68 percent with Republicans. Now that's Joementum.

In rated news: Lieberman and Hillary Clinton are protecting America from video games.

Senator Lieberman held the first hearings on the threat posed to children by video game violence, and he persuaded the video game industry to develop a comprehensive rating system to help parents make informed choices for their children. Since then, Senator Lieberman has successfully persuaded a number of leading national retailers to adopt standard policies to enforce the ratings and prevent children from buying adult-rated games.

"When voters are given a choice between voting for a Republican, or a Democrat who acts like a Republican, they'll vote for the Republican."

Harry Truman
