Not In the Tea Party Bible

“When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."

- Leviticus 19:33-34.

If the tea party actually read the Bible they wouldn't be so quick to bash immigrants. Unless they are racists.

Quote of the Day: Barry Goldwater Edition

Barry Goldwater was right about the Christian Right. Jeb Bush's recent pandering at Liberty University is a perfect example. Liberty University founder Jerry Falwell has a history of anti-feminism and anti-Civil Rights positions.

Jeb Bush's Intolerance Hypocrisy

"Somebody here is being small-minded and intolerant, and it sure isn’t the nuns, ministers, and laymen and women who ask only to live and practice their faith. Federal authorities are demanding obedience, in complete disregard of religious conscience – and in a free society, the answer is no."

Jeb Bush, accusing President Barack Obama of being religiously intolerant.

The irony of Bush's statement is rich. Bush made his comments at the commencement address at Liberty University.

Jerry Falwell, the founder of Liberty University, has a lengthy his of supporting segregation. Falwell was against the Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education. Falwell's own words.

“If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would never have been made. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn the line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”

Jeb Bush is not a dumb man. He is aware of Falwell's controversial history. Bush spoke at Liberty University to pander to the xenophobic base of the Republican Party.

Quote of the Day: Ben Carson Edition

I guess Pearl Harbor and the Civil War weren't that bad in Ben Carson's eyes. I look forward to Carson's fake presidential candidacy coming to an end.

Wingnut of the Day

I don't know where to start with Diana Hubbard's crazy rant on Ted Cruz's Facebook page. I'm still not sure who are the "ericans" Hubbard is referring to. I'm just wondering why the Commandwe in Chief of the armed forces would need terrorist camps.

Sarah Palin Accidentally Raised Money For Hillary

Sarah Palin gave a bizarre speech at the Steve King’s Iowa Freedom Summit. Palin's teleprompter was not working and Palin was forced to improv. The video below has some of the lowlights of Palin's performance art.

Palin held a "Ready For Hillary" sticker and mumbled these words.

I’m ready for Hillary, are you? Are you coming? Hey Iowa, can anyone stop Hillary? To borrow a phrase, ‘Yes we can!’ And it starts here and it starts now.

The Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to take full advantage of Palin's gaffe.

Palin's unintentional plug of Hillary's PAC raised $25,000. The Clinton campaign confirms that Palin now qualifies to be a co-chair.

Sarah Palin inadvertently gave herself a new title — Co-Chair of Ready for Hillary’s National Finance Council! Yesterday, we sent an email to our supporters telling you how Sarah Palin held up a Ready for Hillary car magnet during a recent speech.

The response we got was overwhelming — hundreds of supporters stepped up and Sarah ended up raising Ready for Hillary over $25,000 in grassroots donations. Here’s the kicker — by raising $25,000, Sarah officially qualifies as a Co-Chair of our National Finance Council.

(We will wait until Sarah calls before officially adding her name to the list.)

Palin has not made an official comment to the media. I can't imagine why.
